A. PERSONAL CATEGORY
B. GENERAL STANDARDS FOR ALL COACHES AND STAFF
Standard Aspect
Minimum Age 21 years
Minimum education : high school/equivalent; D3/S1 preferred ( majoring in sports, health, psychology, etc. )
Certification : Have a WAKO / WAKO PRO license or a national trainer license from KONI / PP KICKBOXING
Experience : Have trained or been active in national/professional competitions for at least 3 years
Professional Ethics : Adhere to the WAKO Coach Code of Ethics & uphold sportsmanship, athlete safety, and fair play.
Communication Able to convey instructions clearly and build good relationships with athletes and teams
Self-Development : Must attend training/workshops at least once a year to update knowledge.
C. SPECIFIC STANDARDS BASED ON ROLE
1. Head Coach
To do : Prepare and direct annual training programs, create match strategies, lead coaching staff.
Competency :
Coach license Level C-B-A ( WAKO Nasional / International )
Leadership and team management
Analyze performance and make strategy adjustments
Tactical decision making during the match
2. ASSISTANT COACH
To do : Support the head coach, facilitate training, monitor athlete progress.
Competency :
Minimum Level C license
Experience as an athlete/competitor
Understand training methods, techniques and physical conditions
3. PHYSICAL TRAINER
To do : Develop a physical conditioning program based on kickboxing biomotorics ( strength, power, endurance )
Competency :
Bachelor of sports/coaching
S&C Certification ( ex: ASCA, NSCA, PP-Physical Trainer KONI )
Able to perform physical evaluation ( pre/post test, load management )
4. TECHNICAL TRAINER
To do : Develop technical skills ( kicks, punches, combinations, footwork )
Competency :
Have a technical trainer certification
Proficient in demonstrating basic to advanced techniques
Understand the variations of techniques WAKO PRO ( Low Kick, K1, Full Contact )
5. TACTICAL COACH
To do : Designing match strategies, reading opponents, setting match scenarios.
Competency :
Match video analysis
In-depth knowledge of opponent rules and styles
Communicative and analytical
6. MENTAL COACH
To do : Handle mental readiness, focus, motivation, and stress management.
Competency :
Background in sports psychology
Certificate of assistance to competitive athletes
Relaxation techniques, visualization, and self-talk
7. RECOVERY COACH
To do : Injury recovery, physical therapy, sports massage, cryotherapy, etc.
Competency :
Physiotherapy or sports therapist graduate
PPGD ( Emergency First Aid ) Certificate
Experience dealing with professional athletes
8. PERFORMANCE ANALYST
To do : Analyzing match and training performance data ( video, statistic, GPS tracker, HR monitor )
Competency :
Able to use analysis software ( Dartfish, Coach’s Eye, Hudl, Kinovea )
Create weekly/monthly performance reports
9. TEAM MANAGER
To do : Coordination of logistics, administration, communication between teams and officials.
Competency :
Experienced in organizing professional sports activities
Communicative, thorough, time management
D. CODE OF ETHICS FOR THE WAKO PRO INDONESIA COACH
Athlete safety is the main priority.
Avoid discrimination, harassment and violence.
Work together as a coaching team.
Maintain strategic secrets of teams and athletes.
Developing athlete potential sustainably.
Reject doping and unethical practices.
E. ASSESSMENT & DEVELOPMENT
Coach performance evaluation is carried out at the end of each competition season.
Development through workshops, advanced licensing training, case studies.
Career ladder system: Junior Coach → Intermediate → Senior → Elite / National
